One of the most popular ladies perfumes in recent years, Angel perfume for women by Theirry Mugler is a seductive and feminine fragrance. Angel perfume has been described many times as iconic and it quite simply is. One of the most sought after perfumes for women, it is a bit of a surprise that it was Theirry Mugler’s first fragrance release. Angel first hit the stores in the early 90′s and became a conversation piece among perfume lovers. Its a real love or hate perfume, there doesn’t seem to be a middle ground with this fragrance and that is due in part to its sheer presence.
The name may be a little misleading if you are picturing a gentle angelic fragrance fit for the pure and innocent because angel perfume is anything but gentle, due mostly to the high concentration of patchouli. Without it, the perfume would be sickeningly sweet, with it Angel perfume packs a punch. The top notes of bergamot and mandarin, fruity middle notes and huge patchouli and sugary sweet base (made up of chocolate, caramel and vanilla) are a brilliant blend, if somewhat shocking.
Shocking may be too mild a word to describe angel perfume, many have been known to recoil at their first meeting with angel while others have been not only intoxicated but addicted to the scent.
If you are accustomed to light, feminine scents then angel will most likely blow your mind and not necessarily in a good way, maybe the best way to describe the scent is as an angel gone bad, darkness and seduction all wrapped up in a seemingly innocent package. You will either love or hate this perfume, so be warned and it is absolutely not an everyday perfume, nor is it a scent that you would wear in a confined area at least not without being noticed. Angel is loud and you have to know you can wear a big scent like this and pull it off, do it well and you will love it, it is different and noticeable, so be prepared to be asked about it when you do wear it.
Angel perfume is quite simply a brilliant creation, it’s not for everyone but I guess that’s the point, who wants to smell like everyone else? Intoxicating, loud and if you like it you love it.
