I bought this perfume when it was first released in 2006, the first of the Vera Wang Princess range, the scent was aimed at 18 to 24 year old women but although this ladies perfume is described as young and playful, most suited to fun loving and independent women, I would have to say this is more of a teenage girls perfume.
The bottle is heart shaped and pink with a removable ring on the top, similar to the latest release, Vera Wang Rock Princess and it can be worn on the finger. This would certainly appeal to some teen girls but being in the target age group for this perfume I would definitely say it I would not choose to wear the ring or in fact the perfume.
The scent is very sweet sixteen, floral and girly and reminds me of when young giggly girls are at a sleepover party, trying on makeup and perfume. This would actually make a perfect gift for a young girl on her birthday, it is not overpowering and although it has been described as sexy and beautiful, it is a very young scent, so the target consumer age is quite a bit off, nonetheless it is a nice fragrance for the right age group.
The princess perfume has a sweet scent, very vanilla and warm, not too sweet as it has a nice blend of warm woods and musk with a touch of fruity mandarin and lady apple. Overall the perfume is a nice choice for a daughter or niece as a gift and it is long lasting with a soft dry down.
It is suitable for everyday wear in any season and reminds me of school dances and first dates, a slightly young and innocent perfume but only for the most feminine teen girls, if your daughter is not fond of the color pink, she probably will not want this scent.
Vera Wang Princess makes a great gift for a young teen, if you want a slightly more mature version you can try Vera Wang Rock Princess which is more on target for the intended age group, while rock princess is still a floral, fruit scent, it has a darker base, for the rock and roll girls and the black bottle will appeal to both age groups. The bottle also comes with a nice rock style ring.
